KT CEO Park Yoonyoung Inspects Busan International Communication Center: "Aorta of the AI Era"

KT announced on the 12th that on the 10th, CEO Yoonyoung Park visited the Busan KT International Communication Center to inspect the communication infrastructure connecting major continents and countries.

The Busan KT International Communication Center serves as a cable landing station handling most of the country’s international internet traffic. A cable landing station is a communication gateway facility that brings international submarine cables ashore and connects them to domestic communication networks and data infrastructure. KT currently operates five submarine cables, the largest number among domestic telecom operators, and is also responsible for monitoring the equipment and submarine cable status of cable landing stations in various Asian countries.

KT announced on the 12th that CEO Yoonyoung Park visited the Busan KT International Telecommunications Center on the 10th to inspect the communication infrastructure connecting major continents and countries. CEO Park visited the control room of the KT International Communication Center to encourage on-site staff. She also checked the operation status of the communication center and asked them to faithfully fulfill their role in establishing infrastructure and operational systems so that domestic and international companies and customers can use AI services reliably.

CEO Park emphasized, “For South Korea to become Asia’s AI hub, it is essential to operate international submarine cables stably,” adding, “The KT International Communication Center is a gateway for handling the increasing data traffic of the AI era and serves as a critical aorta for global data communication.”

Meanwhile, immediately after taking office on March 31, CEO Park began by visiting the KT Network and Security Control Center. On April 4, she held her first local schedule at the Honam Regional Network Headquarters, Corporate Sales Headquarters, and group affiliates. On April 8, she continued her site-focused communication management by meeting employees at the Total Sales Center at KT Gunpo Tower in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province.
