The 2nd Gyeongnam International Choir Festival will open on May 14, 2026, with an opening performance at the Gyeongnam Culture & Arts Center in Jinju and will be held as a festival for local residents over three days in Gimhae and Changwon.
The Gyeongnam International Choir Festival, now in its second year following last year's inaugural event, will be held as a three-day festival for residents: the opening performance in Jinju, a performance at Gimhae Arts and Sports Center on the 15th, and the closing performance at Seongsan Art Hall in Changwon on the 16th.
Prior to the performances, an International Choir Forum and seminar will be held on the morning and afternoon of April 13 at the 3.15 Art Hall and Changwon Culture Center.

원본보기 아이콘The 2nd Gyeongnam International Choir Festival, hosted by the Gyeongnam International Choir Festival Organizing Committee (Chairman Gu Jacheon) and co-organized by the Gyeongnam International Choir Festival Organizing Committee and the Gyeongnam Choir Association, will be held as a festival spread across major regions of Gyeongnam starting this year.
This year's festival is supported by Gyeongnam Province, Shinsung Group, Beomhan Group, Shinsinsa, Korea South-East Power, BNK Kyongnam Bank, LG, and other local companies.
The Gyeongnam International Choir Festival Organizing Committee held a launch ceremony on April 11 at the Changwon Convention Center, attended by Governor Park Wansu, Chairman Gu Jacheon, Vice Chairman Jeong Youngsik, Artistic Director Park Shinhwa, staff members, young supporters who will promote and publicize the festival, and about 200 people including 50 invited choirs active in the province.
The 2nd Gyeongnam International Choir Festival will feature five top-level choirs from five countries, including the "Belarmonia" choir from the United States, as well as choirs from Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Taiwan.
Domestically, five leading teams-including the Gwangju City Choir, Yongin City Choir, Changwon City Boys and Girls Choir, Gimhae City Choir, and Jinju Chamber Choir-will participate, presenting high-quality choral performances.
Gu Jacheon, Chairman of the Gyeongnam International Choir Festival Organizing Committee, stated, "The 2nd Gyeongnam International Choir Festival, being held for the second time this year in Gyeongnam, will provide an opportunity for top domestic and international choirs, the growing community of choir enthusiasts, and local residents to come together, enjoy world-class choral music, and foster a culture of harmony and unity."
Governor Park Wansu expressed his gratitude in his welcoming remarks, saying, "I am grateful that such a high-level international cultural event is being held in Gyeongnam, and I would like to thank Chairman Gu Jacheon and the staff of the Gyeongnam International Choir Festival Organizing Committee for organizing and hosting this event."
