KGM's Musso EV Wins 'Red Dot Design Award 2026'

KG Mobility (hereafter KGM) announced on April 10 that its electric pickup, the 'Musso EV', has been recognized for its design excellence by winning the main prize in the Product Design category at the 'Red Dot Design Award 2026', one of the world’s top three design awards.

The 'Musso EV' received high marks from the judges not only for its design, which emphasizes practicality and toughness, but also for offering a unique user experience reminiscent of handling robust and precision-engineered tools.

As the only electric pickup truck available domestically, the 'Musso EV' embodies KGM's design philosophy, 'Powered by Toughness', and has been completed with the convenient yet durable 'Handy & Tough' concept. It harmoniously blends the inherent ruggedness of pickups with the smart image of electric vehicles, and is characterized by a well-balanced expression of practical design elements.

The exterior features a solid body, a thick roof, and a distinctive fender structure, revealing a dynamic and tough identity. Additionally, the LED rear combination lamps, designed to resemble tools, highlight its boldness, while the iconic C-pillar garnish evokes the image of a well-gripped tool, offering a differentiated impression.

In particular, the side design, which lowers the boundary between passenger car and truck, and the gently rising roofline toward the rear provide ample headroom in the back seats for a comfortable sense of space. By applying second-row seats with sliding and reclining functions, the Musso EV delivers space utilization and convenience on par with mid-sized SUVs, even as a pickup truck.

Lee Kang, Executive Vice President and Head of KGM Design Center, stated, "This award is a meaningful achievement created by the passion of our designers, who have worked tirelessly to gain global recognition for KGM’s unique designs." He added, "We will continue to offer users new experiences through designs that combine practicality with distinctiveness."
