Ahn Hoyoung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea representing Wanju, Jinan, and Muju, and Jeonbuk Governor Kim Gwanyoung met unexpectedly at the Jeonbuk Provincial Office on April 9, reaffirming their commitment to cooperating on local issues.

The meeting between the two was unplanned. Assemblyman Ahn visited the provincial office, while Governor Kim, returning after an on-site inspection of the Wanju Physical AI Demonstration Complex, happened to encounter Ahn at the entrance of the building. After exchanging warm greetings, they engaged in a brief conversation.

Assemblyman Ahn offered words of comfort, mentioning the burdens Governor Kim has faced recently, such as the court's dismissal of the injunction request.

Ahn said, "It is heartbreaking and deeply painful. Just as the ground becomes firmer after rain, I hope you will move forward confidently, focusing only on the residents," expressing his sincere consolation.

He then added, "I understand this must be difficult both personally and politically, but I hope you will remain steadfast and continue to devote yourself fully to provincial administration."

Governor Kim expressed his gratitude and mentioned the Wanju Physical AI Demonstration Complex he had just visited. He emphasized, "The National Assembly's support is essential for developing the physical AI industry, which combines robotics and manufacturing, into a core growth engine for Jeonbuk." He also explained the efforts to host the 2036 Summer Olympics and requested cooperation from the political sector.

After the brief meeting, Assemblyman Ahn stated, "I was once again reminded that there can be no distinction between the ruling and opposition parties when it comes to the development of Jeonbuk," and added, "I will do my best to support the province's major projects so they can achieve meaningful results."
