On April 8, Cha Eun-woo took to his social media account and stated, "I sincerely apologize for causing disappointment and confusion to many people, including my fans, due to recent controversy surrounding my taxes." He continued, "I respect the procedures and outcome of the National Tax Service, and I have paid all relevant taxes to ensure there will be no further confusion."

Previously, in January, it was reported that Cha Eun-woo received a notice from the National Tax Service regarding an additional income tax assessment exceeding 20 billion won, which led to allegations of tax evasion. At the time, he stated, "I will humbly accept the final decision made by the relevant authorities and take full responsibility accordingly."

On this day, Cha Eun-woo further explained, "If there were areas I failed to adequately manage, all responsibility rests with me," acknowledging his accountability. He also emphasized, "I will not try to avoid responsibility by claiming ignorance or by saying it was someone else's decision, regardless of the reason."

Regarding the controversy over the establishment of a corporation, he explained that it was a decision made during his professional activities, but ultimately, the responsibility lies with him. He repeatedly apologized to his fans and stated that he would act more prudently in the future.
