The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education announced on April 8, 2026, that it had conducted a preliminary joint training session for the operation of the 2026 International Baccalaureate (IB) Teacher Research Group.
This training was organized to provide guidance on the direction of research tasks before the launch of the research groups and to enhance understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The education office plans to select and operate 10 research groups from elementary, middle, and high schools through an open call.
During the session, a lecture by Professor Han Jin-ho of Kangwon National University was held on the topic of "Understanding and Application of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program in Schools," followed by presentations on research topics by each group.
Through this event, participating teachers were able to share information, build networks, and broaden consensus on the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
Oh Se-hyung, Director of Future Education, stated, "Through this preliminary joint training, we hope that teachers will deepen their understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and that consensus in the school field will be expanded through network building among teachers. We will continue to support the operation of the research groups to strengthen teachers' expertise and foster a collaborative educational environment."
