Hana Bank announced on April 7 that it had signed a strategic business partnership with Meokkebi, a public delivery application company, at its Euljiro headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, on April 6. The partnership aims to support local small business owners and promote the use of public delivery apps.
This partnership was established to help alleviate the financial burden faced by small business owners due to rising costs from high inflation, fees, and labor expenses, as well as to encourage greater use of public delivery applications.
Through this agreement, Hana Bank plans to provide practical financial benefits to Meokkebi franchisees, including launching exclusive financial products for them and linking with policy finance programs, thereby supporting a stable business foundation.
In March, Hana Bank made an additional contribution of 1.5 billion won to the Incheon Credit Guarantee Foundation and is providing financial support totaling 22.5 billion won to small business owners in Incheon who use public delivery apps, including Meokkebi franchisees.
Additionally, the bank plans to launch a co-branded card, offer discount coupons, and connect delivery services for foreign residents in Korea, thereby providing convenience for Meokkebi customers while also supporting meaningful revenue growth for franchisees.
On-site marketing will also continue, including guidance for local small business owners on how to join Meokkebi and offering financial consultations.
A Hana Bank representative stated, "Through this collaboration, we will actively implement field-centered inclusive finance that reduces the financial burden and supports sales growth for local small business owners, while also strengthening their self-reliance. We will closely cooperate with local governments and small business associations to establish a sustainable delivery ecosystem jointly created by the public and private sectors."
