This achievement is attributed to a surge in demand for investments in growth stocks with relative resilience to geopolitical risks, as global conflicts continue. Over the past month, while the KOSPI declined by 3.72% amid the intensification of the Iran war, the Hanwha K-Defense Shipbuilding Nuclear Power Fund rose by 2.26%. Since inception, the fund has recorded a return of 64.31%, with a three-month return of 37.84% as of April 3 (based on the sub-fund).

The fund makes concentrated investments in three key export industries where South Korea has a significant competitive edge in the global market: K-defense, shipbuilding, and nuclear power. As of the end of February, the main holdings included Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Korea Aerospace Industries, Doosan Enerbility, Hanwha Aerospace, Hyundai Rotem, Hanwha Systems, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, LIG Nex1, Samsung Heavy Industries, and Hanwha Ocean. The sector allocation was 42.0% in defense, 22.6% in shipbuilding, and 35.5% in nuclear power.

Choi Youngjin, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Hanwha Asset Management, stated, "As a leading 'K-defense powerhouse' that spearheaded K-defense investment in the domestic stock market through the 'PLUS K-Defense' ETF, we closely tracked geopolitical shifts to launch the 'Hanwha K-Defense Shipbuilding Nuclear Power Fund.' The reason the fund was able to swiftly surpass 100 billion won in NAV, even in the midst of recent market volatility, is that 'K-Defense Shipbuilding Nuclear Power' is a structurally growing industry that is solidifying its position with overwhelming competitiveness amid the sweeping changes in global supply chains."

He added, "'K-Defense Shipbuilding Nuclear Power' is not only a long-term growth theme riding a major global trend, but it also provides a certain degree of protection against geopolitical conflicts. Therefore, rather than approaching it with a short-term perspective, we recommend making consistent investments through pension accounts and similar vehicles."
