The Hannaecheon Spring Flower Festival is Gwangmyeong's representative spring festival, held annually during the peak bloom of cherry blossoms and forsythia. In particular, collaboration with the nearby commercial district has provided a wide variety of sights, food, and entertainment for visitors.
This year's festival will highlight the theme of "spring flowers" even more clearly.
The Gwangmyeong Citizen Gardener Cooperative will take part, creating vibrant spring flower-themed photo zones, and there will be hands-on floral experience programs where citizens can directly appreciate the beauty of flowers.
The festival will be filled with diverse attractions from daytime into the night.
Throughout the day, visitors can relax in the "Picnic Zone" and explore the "Flea Market," where they will find a delightful array of crafts, flowers, and potted plants.
As evening falls, visitors can enjoy melodious busking performances and a romantic "Food Stall Street," offering a chance to savor the ambiance of a spring night along with delicious food.
The festival is open to everyone, and no registration is required to participate. Registration for the floral experience programs will be available on-site.
For detailed event programs and schedules, please visit the Gwangmyeong Cultural Foundation website (gmcf.or.kr) or contact the Regional Culture Team at the Gwangmyeong Cultural Foundation (02-2621-8855).
CEO Song Eunyoung stated, "I hope everyone can take a brief respite from their busy routines and enjoy a leisurely stroll among the blooming spring flowers of Hannaecheon with family, neighbors, and friends. We will continue to develop these seasonal festivals, utilizing local resources, into open spaces for communication that all citizens can enjoy."
