A Welfare Community Built Together

On April 6, Gimcheon City in North Gyeongsang Province announced that it is focusing its efforts on building a "welfare community" and an "inclusive welfare ecosystem" to protect the daily lives of citizens and help them regain their strength.

The city is pursuing a range of initiatives, including: ▲Strengthening veterans’ welfare policies ▲Developing a science-based welfare model tailored to Gimcheon through local social security surveys and planning ▲Enhancing the local community welfare delivery system, including the launch of the Gimcheon City Council on Social Welfare ▲Implementing rapid and accurate integrated welfare assessments ▲Positioning the Gimcheon Welfare Foundation, which marks its fifth anniversary, as the "control tower" to address welfare blind spots ▲Promoting the "Hope Sharing Campaign," a virtuous cycle where citizens’ goodwill supports fellow citizens ▲Advancing the "Home-Based Medical Benefit Program," which brings medical care and support to people's homes ▲Being selected as an outstanding local government in the field of self-reliance for 2025, supporting self-sufficiency and welfare through job creation. These efforts are seen as representative cases of "hopeful welfare," where beneficiaries regain confidence, reconnect with society, and lay the foundation for long-term independence through work.
