The Dong District Office of Daegu will operate the '2026 Ansim Wetland Ecological Exploration Program' from April to September.
This program is designed to help children connect with nature and deepen their understanding of carbon neutrality at Ansim Wetland, an ecological asset within the city. Rather than just sightseeing, it features hands-on education led by professional ecological interpreters, making it highly popular.
This year, the program includes a range of sensory ecological activities: observing ant nests and searching for areas where ants have formed plant communities by moving seeds, looking for earthworms and learning about their role in soil, and observing bird species inhabiting Ansim Wetland while trying out water whistles that mimic bird calls.
Taeun Kim, acting head of Dong District Office, stated, "Through this program, I hope children will develop a love for nature and grow into healthy residents who take the lead in practicing carbon neutrality."
