Disney+ announced on April 6 that it will strengthen its esports live content by expanding its partnership with the Korea e-Sports Association.
Starting with the "2026 Asia Esports Championship," which will be held for three days at Jinju Indoor Gymnasium in Gyeongnam from April 24, the two sides will globally livestream content including the 2026 LoL KeSPA CUP and national team coverage for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
The Asia Esports Championship, which began as a Korea-China-Japan competition in 2021, expanded to cover the entire Asian region last year. This year, seven countries-Korea, China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Mongolia-will participate, and the number of game titles has increased to six.
Disney+ will serve as the exclusive global broadcaster for four titles: Street Fighter 6, The King of Fighters XV, Tekken 8, and the eFootball Series. It will also act as the official broadcaster for two additional titles: PUBG Mobile and Eternal Return.
In the second half of the year, Disney+ will offer exclusive streaming of the send-off ceremony and evaluation matches for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games national team.
Kim Soyeon, CEO of Disney Korea, said, "We will widely promote the value of Korean esports content and inject positive energy into the entire industry ecosystem."
