Full Transition to AI-Based Automated Dispatch System
Improving Rider Income and Customer Experience Through Enhanced Productivity
On April 6, Bureung, a delivery agency platform, announced that it will introduce its next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) automated dispatch system, "Bureung Plus."
Bureung Plus is an AI-based automated dispatch system that, upon receiving a delivery order, analyzes in real time the pickup location, delivery destination, rider location, movement route, and estimated delivery completion time, in order to bundle multiple delivery orders and connect them via the optimal delivery route.
Through this, Bureung Plus has improved inefficiencies in the existing dispatch methods. Previously, the dispatch method commonly used by delivery agencies allowed riders to selectively accept delivery orders based on their personal preferences, resulting in lowered quality for less-preferred deliveries and reduced income for less-experienced riders, among other inefficiency issues.
Bureung Plus also focuses on optimizing overall operations by region. While the AI dispatch systems of major domestic order platforms have prioritized "order-by-order efficiency," concentrating on the most efficient order processing at the moment an order is placed, Bureung Plus is designed to maintain stable overall service quality by formulating dispatch strategies that take into account the volume of goods and rider availability by day of the week and time of day.
Results have already been confirmed in real-world application. In a three-week pilot operation conducted by Bureung in the Jungnang-gu area of Seoul, delivery quality in regions where AI automated dispatch was applied improved significantly. The delivery completion rate within 40 minutes for all delivery orders improved by 15 percentage points compared to before the introduction, and for Bureung's main corporate clients, the achievement rate of the contracted service quality reached 98%. Starting this month and continuing through the end of the year, Bureung plans to expand the application of Bureung Plus to around 80 locations, focusing on the Seoul metropolitan area and major cities, and aims to complete a full transition by next year.
Kim Hyungseol, CEO of Bureung, stated, "It is true that service quality in the existing delivery agency industry has lagged behind that of major domestic order platforms. Based on our AI automated dispatch system 'Bureung Plus,' we will significantly enhance our market competitiveness and make Bureung the sole alternative in the delivery agency market."
