Geumsan County to Host Three Spring Flower Festivals to Welcome the Season

Nam Junsu, Director of Planning and Strategy at Geumsan County, held a press conference in the county office briefing room on the 31st, stating, "This year, three spring flower festivals, including the Bogok Mountain Valley Wild Cherry Blossom Festival, will be held as major signature events in Geumsan County." He also expressed his hope that "families and couples will come and enjoy the pure beauty of Geumsan’s spring flowers."

Director Nam explained that the three spring flower festivals taking place in Geumsan County are the Bogok Mountain Valley Wild Cherry Blossom Festival, the Geumsancheon Spring Flower Festival, and the Hongdohwa Festival in Namil-myeon. He added that he hopes local residents will visit the festival sites and experience healing through these events.

◆ Bogok Mountain Valley Wild Cherry Blossom Festival

Bogok Mountain Valley in Geumsan County, known as the largest natural habitat for wild cherry blossoms in Korea, will host the Wild Cherry Blossom Festival from April 11 to April 19. The festival is recognized for its vibrant celebrations that fully capture the spirit of spring.

This festival features a variety of interactive programs that highlight the natural charm of Bogok Mountain Valley.

Attractions include the Bogok Mountain Valley Treasure Certification Event, the Mountain Flower Sullaegil Health Walking Tour, and the Mountain Flower Sullaegil Plogging Challenge, all designed to captivate visitors.

The opening ceremony, which marks the beginning of the festival, will be held at the main stage of the event venue at 11:00 a.m. on April 11. A variety of cultural and artistic performances are planned, promising to enhance the excitement of the festival and delight the audience.

The county has also prepared traffic control measures to ensure safe and smooth festival operations in anticipation of a large influx of visitors. From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the festival period, vehicle access will be restricted on the section from the Mountain Flower Cherry Blossom Village Auto Camping Site to Shinan Temple.

◆ Geumsancheon Spring Flower Festival

The Geumsancheon Spring Flower Festival will be held from April 4 to April 10. As a "three-no" festival-without a stage, performances, or opening ceremonies-it encourages spontaneous participation by residents and allows visitors to freely enjoy the festival as a strolling event.

In particular, scenic lighting will be installed along the deck section between Baekgimi Bridge and Ogin Bridge, providing beautiful nighttime views. Two busking performances will be held each day at 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., creating a healing atmosphere where visitors can enjoy live music.

◆ Hongdohwa Festival in Namil-myeon

The Hongdohwa Festival in Namil-myeon will be held on April 18 and 19. This event, which centers on the Hongdohwa flowers, aims to highlight the area as a nature-friendly tourist destination.

The festival will feature attractions, activities, and food to maximize visitor satisfaction, and it will be organized with active participation from local residents as well as relevant organizations and associations within the county.

In addition, information related to broadcast promotions of Geumsan ginseng was shared.

This year, the county will promote the excellence of Geumsan ginseng through expert interviews and on-site coverage in various KBS programs, such as "Good Morning Korea," "Live Info," "My Hometown at 6," and "Secret of Life and Death."

He added, "We will do our best to promote the excellence of Geumsan ginseng through broadcast programs."
