Namhae County in South Gyeongsang Province held a tree planting event at the Namhae County Natural Recreation Forest site in celebration of the 81st Arbor Day. The event was organized to raise awareness of the importance of forests and to emphasize the significance of planting and caring for trees.

Participants planted Japanese cypress and hydrangea trees, reflecting on the importance of preserving the local natural environment and maintaining forests. The event was attended by over 200 people, including the Deputy Governor of Namhae, the head of Samdong-myeon, the president of the Namhae County Forestry Cooperative, the Samdong-myeon village leaders' association, forestry organizations, Saemaul organizations, and volunteers.


Deputy Governor Jeong Seokwon of Namhae stated, "We hope this event will increase residents' interest in cultivating and preserving forests, and we plan to continue various activities to protect the environment and ensure sustainable forest management."


In particular, the trees planted on this day are expected to become a key part of the natural recreation forest's landscape, providing a space where local residents and visitors can appreciate the value of nature.
