Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that the "Wolasans Spring Spring Spring Festival" will be held on March 28 and 29 in the area of "Jinju in the Forest of Wolasans," coinciding with the blooming season of spring flowers.
The spring festival will take place at "Jinju in the Forest of Wolasans," which has consistently presented cultural events highlighting the charm of the four-season forest. Visitors will be offered a special springtime experience with a variety of performances and hands-on programs in a natural setting adorned with daffodils and cherry blossoms.
Last year’s spring festival attracted around 7,000 visitors, who enjoyed the festivities alongside the blooming spring flowers. Notably, even before this year’s festival, the number of visitors to the facility has already more than doubled compared to the previous year, indicating a significant increase in demand.
Amid this growth, the city expects approximately 15,000 visitors to attend this year’s spring festival in the forest garden over the two days.
The festival is designed to allow visitors to naturally experience the value of forest healing amidst the vibrant energy of spring, awakening both body and mind after the winter. This year’s festival also features emotional content and participatory programs under the theme of a "Spring Garden Party," making it a family-friendly cultural event that everyone can enjoy.
◆ Invitation to a Spring Garden Party in the Forest
The festival will feature a dress code event with the theme "party attire," where visitors dressed in party dresses or hero costumes will receive "forest currency" and small souvenirs that can be used in the experiential programs. Visitors wearing "pink" outfits, reflecting the bright colors of spring flowers, will also be given "forest currency," providing more opportunities to participate in various programs.
The "forest currency," used throughout the event, functions as a ticket that can be earned by joining programs and spent at the "Forest Store (Cafe Soop)" and on various activities within Jinju in the Forest of Wolasans. This participatory content encourages visitors to engage with multiple programs and enjoy the festival even more.
Other programs include a stamp tour, a treasure hunt in the flower field, spring photo zones, and instant photo sessions, allowing visitors to freely explore the venue and enhancing the fun of this interactive festival alongside the spring blossoms.
◆ Emotional Experience Programs with Nature
A variety of hands-on programs using natural materials will also be available. Highlights include creating a spring terrarium, making a 2026 spring calendar, and participating in the "Mountain Stone Adoption" experience, where visitors can make their own unique creations and create special memories using nature as inspiration.
In particular, the "Mountain Stone Adoption" program offers a unique opportunity to decorate and name stones collected from Wolasans, providing a new way to connect with nature. Additionally, there will be "forest play" and "flower play" experiences, featuring physical activities in the natural environment, making these generationally inclusive programs suitable for everyone from children to adults.
◆ Enjoying the Emotions of Spring with Performances
Beyond hands-on activities, the festival will also present cultural and artistic performances. The children’s musical "Jack and the Beanstalk," a modern reinterpretation of a classic fairy tale, will entertain children while delivering messages about communication and consideration in the online environment.
A "Spring Day Classical Guitar Concert," capturing the warm atmosphere of the season, will also be held, offering visitors a relaxing time to enjoy music in the forest. Performances will be available both by reservation and on-site, and are expected to be especially popular among families.
◆ Wolasans Jinju in the Forest - Korea’s Premier Forest Welfare Destination
"Jinju in the Forest of Wolasans," a forest welfare facility near the city, is a comprehensive destination that combines a natural recreation forest, a wood culture experience center, and forest leisure sports facilities.
Recently, it has evolved into a unique forest garden space, establishing itself as a place where citizens can experience garden culture. Through this spring festival, it aims to spread the value of forest culture where people and nature harmonize, while providing visitors with opportunities for relaxation and healing.
A Jinju City official stated, "The Wolasans Spring Spring Spring Festival at Jinju in the Forest of Wolasans is a participatory festival where you can enjoy a variety of experiences and performances alongside the spring flowers. We hope you will visit with your family and friends to feel the warmth of spring in nature and create special memories."
