Hadong County in South Gyeongsang Province is accelerating the creation of a youth-friendly residential environment by launching the construction project of "Youth and Family Custom Housing" to ensure housing stability for young people and newlywed couples.
The "Youth and Family Custom Housing" project aims to help young people and newlyweds settle in the region by providing affordable and stable public rental housing to those facing a heavy housing cost burden.
The project will be developed within the Youth Town area at 360-2 Bipa-ri, Hadong-eup, and will consist of a seven-story apartment-type public rental housing. The total floor area will be approximately 2,492.84 square meters, with a total of 24 units planned for supply.
The housing types will include 22 units of 65.7 square meters and 2 units of 42.89 square meters (exclusive area), and the design will prioritize the living convenience and a pleasant residential environment for young families.
The county previously secured the project site in 2023, laying the groundwork for development, and has since proceeded step-by-step with administrative procedures such as preliminary reviews for public architecture and design competitions.
In particular, after obtaining approval for the apartment construction business plan in January 2026, the county has begun full-scale implementation of the project, aiming for completion in July 2027.
A county official stated, "The Youth and Family Custom Housing will provide a foundation for young people to take root in the region in a stable manner," adding, "We hope to see a virtuous cycle in the local economy, with the laughter of children bringing new life to local businesses and schools."
Meanwhile, the Youth Town where the "Youth and Family Custom Housing" will be located is a core hub for youth policy in Hadong County. The county plans to continuously expand an environment that supports youth settlement by linking housing assistance with policies for youth employment, entrepreneurship, and living infrastructure.
