Gyeonggi Province to Offer Up to 200,000 Won Monthly Rent Support for Young People for Two Years

Gyeonggi Province will begin accepting new applications for the "Youth Monthly Rent Support" program from March 30 to May 29, 2026.

The Youth Monthly Rent Support Program has been implemented since 2022 to ease the housing cost burden for young people. It provides up to 200,000 won per month in rent support for young tenants, for up to 24 months (24 installments).

Eligible applicants are young people aged between 19 and 34 who live separately from their parents and do not own a home. The applicant's original household income must be at or below 100% of the standard median income (5,359,000 won per month for a household of three), and the independent youth household income must be at or below 60% of the standard median income (1,538,000 won per month for a single-person household).

Applicants can check whether they meet the income and other requirements for the Youth Monthly Rent Support Program by using the "Self-Diagnosis (Simulation Calculation) Service" on the Bokjiro website (www.bokjiro.go.kr) or the My Home Portal (www.myhome.go.kr).

Youth wishing to apply can do so online through the Bokjiro website or by visiting the local administrative welfare center for their registered address.

Kim Taesoo, Director of Housing Policy at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The Youth Monthly Rent Support Program has been operated as a temporary measure, but starting in 2026, it will shift to a continuous program, allowing for more stable housing support for young people." He added, "We plan to continue paying close attention to alleviating the housing cost burden for the younger generation going forward."
