Sacheon City Holds Safety and Health Training for Supervisors... Strengthening Industrial Accident Prevention

Enhancing Field-Oriented Safety Management Capabilities

and Responding to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act

On March 19, Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province held the "2026 Annual Safety and Health Training for Supervisors" in the main conference room of City Hall to prevent industrial accidents and establish a culture of safety.

This training is a mandatory legal requirement under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, which stipulates that supervisors must complete at least 16 hours of training per year. The program was designed to strengthen the sense of responsibility among managers who directly supervise workers and to enhance their ability to respond on site.

Currently, the city has designated the heads of 40 departments with field workers (26 from the municipal offices and 14 from towns, townships, and neighborhoods) as supervisors. These individuals are responsible for directly managing hazardous and dangerous factors in the field and play a key role in preventing safety accidents.

The training covered topics such as: ▲ improving safety awareness for efficient job performance ▲ understanding the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and establishing a safety and health management system ▲ and preventing job-related stress. In particular, the training focused on the enhanced roles and responsibilities of supervisors following the implementation of the relevant law.

A city official stated, "As the role of supervisors has become increasingly important, we will continue to strengthen our field-oriented safety management capabilities," adding, "We will do our utmost to create a safe work environment free from industrial accidents."

Meanwhile, Sacheon City plans to use this training as an opportunity to further strengthen its field safety management system and to minimize industrial accidents through a preventive approach to safety management.
