[Market Focus] Orion Rises on Strong Overseas Sales

Orion is showing an upward trend thanks to strong overseas sales.

As of 9:07 a.m. on March 17, Orion was trading at 130,500 won, up 1,500 won (1.16%) from the previous day.

In February, Orion’s combined performance in four countries recorded sales of 254.4 billion won, up 13% year-on-year, and operating profit of 36.5 billion won, up 12%. Park Sangjun, a researcher at Kiwoom Securities, analyzed, “Even excluding the impact of the timing difference for Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year), overall sales and profitability are performing better than expected, driven by strong sales at Chinese snack shops and accelerating sales growth in Vietnam due to the recovery in consumer sentiment.”

Kiwoom Securities forecast that Orion’s operating profit will increase by 20% this year, citing the strengthening growth of overseas subsidiaries. Researcher Park projected, “With continued high sales growth centered on overseas subsidiaries, and as the yuan and ruble strengthen against the won, the company’s total sales and operating profit are expected to rise by 13% and 20%, respectively, compared to last year.”
