Hapcheon Wanghu Market in Gyeongnam has embarked on new efforts to expand sales channels for traditional markets, including online sales and the expansion of digital distribution.
Hapcheon Wanghu Market, the representative traditional market of Hapcheon County, was selected as this year's Gyeongsang region traditional market for the "Revitalize Five Major Traditional Markets Nationwide Program," jointly promoted by the Korea Federation of SMEs and Home&Shopping. As part of this program, the "Traditional Market and Small Business e-Commerce Seminar" was held in the main conference room on the third floor of Hapcheon County Office on March 13.

The event featured congratulatory remarks from National Assemblyman Shin Sungbeom, Vice Chairman Lee Hanwook of the Korea Federation of SMEs, and Hapcheon County Governor Kim Yuncheol. Around 70 people participated, including Bang Kyusik, President of the Hapcheon Wanghu Market Merchants Association, market vendors, and local small business owners, who shared a variety of information aimed at revitalizing traditional markets.
In particular, the screening of the Hapcheon Wanghu Market promotional video, lectures on the direction and digitalization of traditional markets, and guidance on small business mutual aid programs provided practical support information and received a positive response from attendees.
The Korea Federation of SMEs also organized a donation event, contributing goods worth 10 million won purchased at Hapcheon Wanghu Market to three local welfare facilities, further promoting consumption at traditional markets and highlighting the spirit of local coexistence.
Kim Yuncheol, Governor of Hapcheon County, stated, "As traditional markets are experiencing overall difficulties, I am grateful for the interest shown in Hapcheon Wanghu Market and for creating such a valuable opportunity. We will make even greater efforts so that many people can visit our traditional market, do their shopping, and enjoy the warm atmosphere."
Meanwhile, through this "Traditional Market Revitalization Program," Hapcheon Wanghu Market will receive support for the production of promotional videos and leaflets, participation in the Home&Shopping mobile app for market and local small business owners, and TV home shopping broadcast sales. The home shopping broadcast is scheduled for March 26 at 3:40 p.m., featuring three products: Yulpi Rice Cake, Simba Woo Pork, and Onion Cup Ramen.
