LG Display has supplied organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels to Chinese TV manufacturer TCL for the first time. Attention is focused on whether the influence of Korean panel makers will expand in the Chinese premium monitor market.
According to industry sources and foreign media on March 15, LG Display’s OLED panels were used in TCL’s newly launched '32X3A OLED Monitor.' This marks TCL's first release of an OLED monitor. LG Display reportedly began supplying these panels in January 2026.
This product supports 4K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. It features a peak brightness of 1,300 nits and delivers 99% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. A dual-mode function, which supports a 480Hz refresh rate at 1080p resolution, is also included. This function is reportedly based on LG Display's OLED panel technology.
TCL has CSOT, one of China's largest display companies, as its panel subsidiary. However, Chinese panel manufacturers are still considered to lag behind Korean companies in OLED technology and production scale. For this reason, industry insiders believe TCL adopted LG Display’s panels for its premium gaming monitors.
The Chinese OLED monitor market is growing rapidly. According to market research firm IDC, OLED monitor sales in China increased significantly from 30,000 units in 2023 to 570,000 units in 2024. During the same period, revenue surged more than tenfold from 29 million dollars to 328 million dollars.
With rising demand in the Chinese market, there are expectations that the influence of Korean panel makers such as LG Display and Samsung Display in the OLED sector will also grow.
Meanwhile, LG Display recorded an operating profit of 517 billion won last year, achieving a return to annual profitability for the first time in four years since 2021. The company plans to expand its lineup this year, focusing on premium OLED products and extending to more affordable models.
