"Settlement Was Unclear During Idol Days... Struggled to Raise Funds"
On Multi-Homeowner Regulations: "I Put My Houses Up for Sale Because I Can't Afford the Taxes"
Broadcaster Jang Suwon, a former member of the group Sechs Kies, shared his experience of winning an apartment subscription in the past as well as his thoughts on the current real estate situation.
On March 14, Jang Suwon appeared on the video "Episode 40: Jang Suwon Ridicule Party 2," which was released through the YouTube channel 'Lee Yongjin YouTube.' He recounted an episode from when he won a subscription for an apartment in Jamsil, Seoul.

원본보기 아이콘He said that he was selected for an apartment subscription in the Jamsil area of Seoul around 2018 to 2019, but it was not easy to secure the necessary funds. Jang Suwon recalled, "I didn't have enough money for the interim payment, so I managed to make up for it by working several jobs," adding, "I really did all sorts of work, almost like a street performer, just to get by."
He also talked about the revenue structure during his idol days. Jang Suwon remembered, "Back then, the settlement system was not as transparent as it is now. It was not easy to make big money just because you were an idol, and sometimes contracts were not even properly written. There were many cases where we only made verbal agreements and carried out our activities."

Host and comedian Lee Yongjin mentioned, "With all these policies cracking down on multiple homeowners these days, you probably don't feel good about it," referencing the related policies. Jang Suwon responded with a laugh, "That's why I put all my houses up for sale. I don't have money to pay the taxes."
Jang Suwon also shared an update on his current activities. He revealed that he is currently running a restaurant specializing in crab dishes in Boracay, Philippines.
Jang Suwon debuted with Sechs Kies in 1997 and gained immense popularity, subsequently continuing his career in acting and various entertainment programs.
