On the 12th and 13th, the city organized a special inspection team consisting of 30 staff members from the Planning and Coordination Office, divided into 15 groups, and conducted a comprehensive inspection of all 27 gas stations within its jurisdiction under the theme of "Petroleum Price Display and Distribution Order Inspection."

This inspection was implemented to proactively prevent unfair practices that may arise during periods of rising oil prices. The team focused on verifying whether the petroleum price display system was being properly followed, whether the posted prices matched the actual selling prices, and whether there were any unfair trading practices such as price collusion.

For gas stations where minor deficiencies, such as inaccurate price displays, were found during the inspection, on-site guidance was provided to correct the issues immediately. Additionally, gas station operators were urged to comply with relevant laws and to cooperate in setting reasonable prices to support citizens facing high fuel costs.

The city plans to further strengthen the "Livelihood Stability Monitoring System" for gas stations to respond proactively to the ongoing high oil price situation.

Currently, the city operates a "Livelihood Stability Dedicated Desk" to quickly address complaints in areas directly related to citizens’ daily lives, such as small businesses, companies, consumers, and welfare.

In particular, for various energy-related complaints and unfair trading practices such as price collusion at gas stations resulting from rising oil prices, the Carbon Neutrality and Energy Transition Team is providing dedicated consultations.

The Energy Transition Team will continue real-time monitoring in line with the government's implementation of the Petroleum Price Ceiling Policy (as of 0:00 on the 13th: regular gasoline at 1,724 won per liter, diesel at 1,713 won, and kerosene at 1,320 won), and plans to maintain close cooperation with the gas station industry to foster a transparent distribution environment.

Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong City, stated, "Given the significant challenges to the local economy caused by oil price volatility, establishing a transparent distribution order is a key administrative responsibility. We will continue to focus the city's resources on creating an environment where citizens can use gas stations with confidence through ongoing, field-oriented inspections and management."
