The Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP) announced on March 13 that, together with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, it will be recruiting companies to participate in the "2026 Sustainable Design Support Project" until the end of this month.
The purpose of this project is to support design-specialized companies seeking to develop products, packaging, and services in line with the European Union (EU)'s recently enacted Ecodesign Regulation.

In particular, the Ministry and KIDP have revamped the previous annual support system into a continuous support framework, based on last year's achievements: product commercialization in the first year, and advancement in the second year. Up to 90 million won in development funding will be provided.
Eligibility is limited to design-specialized companies as defined by the Industrial Design Promotion Act. Approximately 10 teams will be selected after a two-stage process: an initial document review and a second-stage presentation evaluation, which will comprehensively assess their growth potential, including their ability to utilize service design.
Kang Yoonjoo, President of KIDP, stated, "By supporting design development, we will help our companies turn the new challenge of global environmental regulations into opportunities for innovation, ultimately achieving tangible increases in sales and expanding their market channels."
