Some KakaoTalk messages, believed to have been sent by Kim Soyoung (20), the suspect in the 'Gangbuk Motel Serial Killings,' to her male victim, have been partially leaked. Investigators suspect that Kim may have sent these messages while the victim was already unconscious, likely as an 'alibi action' intended to fabricate her innocence.

"My period started, thanks for the taxi fare"-Leaked KakaoTalk Messages Crafted by 'Gangbuk Motel Serial Killer' Kim Soyoung

On March 13, KakaoTalk messages that Kim reportedly sent to the victim began circulating on social media platforms. In the messages, Kim described the situation and claimed that she left the scene first.

According to the messages, Kim wrote, "That day, my period suddenly started, so I told him I was uncomfortable and needed to go home. He gave me some cash to use for taxi fare, and I thanked him for that."

She continued, "He ordered chicken using my phone, and we watched a movie together. Then, he suddenly seemed tired and fell asleep first, but I'm not sure if he remembers. When the food arrived, I briefly woke him up. He told me to pay with his card, so I used the card to pay."

She added, "He told me to take the food home and eat by myself, so I packed it up, but he was sleeping and it felt too lonely to eat alone. Next time, let's go eat meat together." She also wrote, "We booked the room to spend time together, but you fell asleep first, so I'm disappointed."

"Explaining the situation without any replies...A textbook alibi message," experts analyze

The notable point is that there are no replies from the victim in this conversation. Investigators believe this suggests that the victim may have already lost consciousness at the time.

An investigator stated, "Even though it was impossible for a reply to come, she went on at length to explain the situation unilaterally," adding, "This is a textbook example of a fabricated message sent to create an alibi."

The prosecution believes Kim prepared the drugs in advance as part of her crime. The prosecution stated, "The defendant pretended to have a mental disorder in order to obtain prescription pills, ground them into powder, and mixed them into hangover remedies, thereby preparing for the crime in advance." They further explained, "Despite being aware of the previous victim's loss of consciousness, she increased the dosage for subsequent victims, displaying cruelty." It was also found that she used artificial intelligence (AI) 'ChatGPT' to confirm that an overdose of the drug could lead to death.

When psychiatric medical records became necessary for a separate criminal complaint, Kim obtained a prescription for the relevant medication under the diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), even though she did not actually suffer from the condition. Prosecutors believe that this medication was used as a tool in the crimes.

Between December 14 of last year and February 9 of this year, Kim is accused of giving drinks containing benzodiazepine drugs to three men in their 20s, resulting in the deaths of two and leaving one in a comatose state.
