The Bitgaram Multipurpose Culture and Sports Center, established to improve residential conditions in Naju Innovation City and enhance the quality of life for citizens, has officially opened its doors. The center has begun full-scale operations as a multipurpose hub integrating culture, sports, and education.

The event was attended by over 200 people, including Byungtae Yoon, Mayor of Naju, Jaenam Lee, Chairperson of Naju City Council, provincial and city council members, officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Jeollanam-do, and Gwangju Metropolitan City, representatives from relocated public institutions and related organizations, social groups, and citizens, who all celebrated the center’s opening together.
The opening ceremony began with a congratulatory performance by the Naju City Choir, followed by commemorative speeches and congratulatory addresses, and a guided tour of the facility. Attendees toured the main facilities, marking the birth of a new regional hub for culture, sports, and education.

It boasts the largest scale among all Multipurpose Innovation Centers in national innovation cities.

It houses a swimming pool, multipurpose gymnasium, multipurpose rooms (exhibition hall), seminar rooms, youth entrepreneurship space, lifelong learning center, youth culture center, and a youth playground, offering a comprehensive complex that combines functions of culture, sports, and education.
To commemorate the opening, a special installation art exhibition by artist Nahyun is being held in the exhibition hall until April 26.
The swimming pool and multipurpose gymnasium will operate on a free trial basis until the 30th of next month, during which the overall operation of the facilities will be reviewed and citizen feedback will be gathered for incorporation into official operations.
The lifelong learning center, youth culture center, and youth playground will also begin operations sequentially as soon as preparations are complete.
Naju City plans to further improve residential conditions in the innovation city through the Bitgaram Multipurpose Culture and Sports Center, operating it as a multipurpose space where citizens can enjoy culture, sports, and education in daily life, and fostering it as a key hub for community communication and vitality.
A Naju City official stated, "We will do our utmost to provide a variety of programs and ensure stable facility management to promote healthy leisure activities for citizens and revitalize the local community."
