The appointed committee members will rigorously verify whether the budget executed during the last fiscal year was spent in accordance with its original purpose and plan. They will review the overall financial operations of both the Jeonnam Provincial Government and the Provincial Office of Education by inspecting major project executions as well as examining settlement reports and financial statements.

Chairman Tae-gyun Kim emphasized, "Please thoroughly confirm whether the precious taxes paid by our residents have been properly executed in line with their original intent and purpose," adding, "I hope you will carefully check for any shortcomings or areas that require improvement in the overall financial management."

In response, the committee members stated, "We will conduct the settlement inspection from an objective and fair perspective, closely examine the overall financial management, and approach the inspection with a sense of responsibility."

This year's settlement inspection will be conducted sequentially: for the Jeonnam Provincial Government, from April 16 to 24; and for the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, from April 25 to May 4.

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Provincial Council had already approved the appointment of settlement inspection committee members at the 1st plenary session of its 397th extraordinary session. Based on the inspection results, the council plans to finalize the approval of the settlement and reserve fund expenditure at the 1st regular session in September.
