"Revitalizing the Startup Ecosystem"... Dongmyeong University Partners with Local Company 'Jo's House Lab'

Dongmyeong University has partnered with the Busan-based local company 'Gungjung Haemultang Jo’s House Lab' to vitalize the regional startup ecosystem and expand practical entrepreneurship education for students.


The Department of Entrepreneurship and the Startup Support Group at Dongmyeong University announced on March 11 that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jo’s House Lab on March 9 to strengthen cooperation for regional startup support.


Gungjung Haemultang Jo’s House Lab is a Busan-based company engaged in the restaurant business and meal kit production. Through this agreement, the university plans to establish a cooperative system that connects its educational infrastructure with the company’s practical field sites.

Through the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate on several initiatives: supporting the activation of the Startup Support Group’s projects, revitalizing local startups by utilizing Jo’s House Lab’s infrastructure, forming a consortium to discover promising technologies, and supporting entrepreneurship internships and on-site training for students in the Department of Entrepreneurship.


Students from Dongmyeong University’s Department of Entrepreneurship will gain internship opportunities to acquire hands-on experience in the local business field as a result of this agreement. In addition, the university and the company plan to jointly discover new regional startup models by utilizing Jo’s House Lab’s technology and infrastructure.


Noh Seong-yeo, head of the Startup Support Group (and professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship) at Dongmyeong University, stated, "Collaboration with local companies offers students the opportunity to experience the startup field firsthand," adding, "We will devote ourselves to nurturing entrepreneurial talent who can invigorate the regional economy."
