The group BTS will open additional standing seats for their free comeback concert, which will be held on March 21 at 8:00 p.m. in the Gwanghwamun Square area of Seoul.
BigHit Music, their agency, announced on March 10 that additional ticket reservations for 'BTS Comeback Live: Arirang' will open at 8:00 p.m. on March 12 through NOL Ticket. The additional seats will accommodate 7,000 people, spanning from the south of Sejong-daero intersection to the area near City Hall Station on subway line 1. All areas will be operated as standing sections, and attendees can watch the concert via large LED screens installed on-site. Existing ticket holders will not be permitted to reserve these additional tickets.
With this measure, the total audience size has increased to 22,000. BigHit Music explained, "We determined the seating scale with top priority on on-site safety and crowd dispersion."
BigHit Music and HYBE will also strengthen measures to prevent ticket scalping and unauthorized entry. The companies plan to proactively block ticket scalping by monitoring and reporting illegal online ticket transfers in real time. Identity verification procedures will be reinforced for all attendees, and additional authentication will be introduced for certain areas. Details on these procedures will be announced in advance on the official website to minimize on-site congestion.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government will also implement safety management measures to prepare for the large crowds. Mayor Oh Sehoon held a safety inspection meeting on March 9 and instructed thorough checks and reinforcement measures. The city will deploy approximately 3,400 on-site personnel in cooperation with related agencies. Fire authorities plan to station 99 fire trucks and 765 personnel near the event venue to reduce response time in case of emergency.
Before the concert, BTS will release their fifth full-length album, 'Arirang,' at 1:00 p.m. on March 20. The title track, 'Swim,' was largely written by RM. This will mark the first full-group comeback for BTS in about 3 years and 9 months. The concert will be broadcast live exclusively on Netflix in more than 190 countries. This is the first time Netflix will livestream a concert by a single artist.
