President Lee made these remarks while attending the 'Dialogue with Entrepreneurs Practicing Coexistence' held at the Blue House on the same day. He stated, "Building an ecosystem for mutually beneficial cooperation is, in my view, a highly efficient investment that involves cultivating competent partners and creating strong teamwork," adding that it is "a smart survival strategy to fly farther, longer, and higher."
Addressing Hanwha Ocean, which participated in the meeting, President Lee praised the company as "a model case for improving the dual wage structure between large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises." He noted, "I heard that Hanwha Ocean spent 8.9 billion won annually to ensure that subcontractor workers receive performance-based bonuses on par with regular employees," and expressed his gratitude.
President Lee also stated, "For us to achieve continued growth, there must be a shift in the overall economic and industrial environment," explaining that "the most important factor is the creation of an ecosystem for coexistence." He elaborated, "Even a tiger needs grasslands to survive-this is the law of nature. Sustainable growth and development can only be achieved when there is an ecosystem supported by healthy rabbits and vast grasslands."
He went on to point out that the trickle-down effect from the era of industrialization no longer works. He said, "The vertical integration and cost-cutting strategies that were popular in the past do not suit today's modern economy, which is driven by high value-added, advanced industries. Only by creating a fair and cyclical ecosystem can we transform our society into one where creativity and innovation spur sustainable growth and development."
Additionally, President Lee emphasized, "In fact, showing consideration for others and moving forward together may be the most practical way to go farther and soar higher," adding, "I believe that mutually beneficial cooperation will become the driving force for creating a world where we can all live together."
