Gwangju University Expands Global Exchange and Cooperation with School of Advanced Pharmaceutical and Food Technology in China

On March 10, Gwangju University announced that it had visited the School of Advanced Pharmaceutical and Food Technology located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China, to discuss global educational cooperation between the two institutions.


At the meeting held the previous day, Gwangju University was represented by President Kim Dongjin, Director of Student Affairs Kim Jihyuk, Director of International Cooperation Choi Jisoo, and Head of the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology Kim Sohyun. The School of Advanced Pharmaceutical and Food Technology was represented by Principal Jiao Benxin, Vice Principal Mai Wenzheng, and Director of Academic Affairs Ha Ying. During the meeting, both sides explored ways to expand future educational exchanges, including operating an "International Beauty and Cosmetology Class" at the School of Advanced Pharmaceutical and Food Technology and promoting student exchange programs.


Afterwards, special lectures were held for approximately 200 students of the School of Advanced Pharmaceutical and Food Technology. President Kim Dongjin delivered a lecture on "Entrepreneurship," emphasizing the importance of a challenging spirit and creative thinking that young people should possess in a rapidly changing global environment. In addition, Kim Sohyun, Head of the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology, gave a lecture on "The Growth and Global Trends of the K-Beauty Industry," introducing the development process of Korea's beauty industry, its competitiveness in the global market, and career opportunities in related fields.


The students who participated in the special lectures showed great interest in Korean culture and the K-Beauty industry. In particular, they expressed strong interest in participating in beauty-related camp programs that are scheduled to be held in Korea.
