Malgeunmure to Build Soy-Based Food Cluster in Goesan County

Signed Investment Agreement with Goesan County to Establish a Comprehensive Food Cluster

Malgeunmure Holdings announced on March 10 that it had signed an investment agreement with Goesan County in North Chungcheong Province to establish a comprehensive food cluster.

Since its founding in 1994, Malgeunmure Holdings has grown into a specialized food company equipped with nationwide production facilities and sales networks, starting with the production of tofu and bean sprouts. Based on its own brand, "Malgeunmure," the company supplies soy-based products such as tofu, bean sprouts, and natto to online shopping malls, home shopping channels, large supermarkets, and convenience stores.

This agreement aims to invigorate the local economy by establishing a new production facility for Malgeunmure Holdings within Goesan County, thereby increasing local employment opportunities. The company plans to invest a total of KRW 300 billion to relocate its eight production facilities, currently dispersed nationwide, to Goesan County. This will create a comprehensive food cluster specializing in soy-based products, covering an area of approximately 330,000 square meters. Through this project, about 500 new jobs are expected to be created in the region.

Goesan County will support the necessary administrative procedures, such as permits and approvals required for the establishment of the cluster, and will actively consider financial support measures, including tax incentives, to ensure smooth progress of the investment.

Kim Seokwon, CEO of Malgeunmure Holdings, stated, "Through this agreement, we will be able to establish a comprehensive soy food cluster in Goesan, a pristine region, thereby improving production efficiency and contributing to local job creation. I expect that 'Malgeunmure' will grow further as a leading brand in soy foods."
