President Trump also responded, warning, "If you block oil tankers, we will strike back with attacks 20 times stronger than now."
According to the Times of Israel and other outlets on the 10th (local time), the IRGC targeted President Trump in a spokesperson's statement, declaring, "It is we, not the United States, who will decide when the war ends." The IRGC further emphasized, "If the attacks by the United States and Israel continue, we will not allow even a single liter of crude oil to be exported from this region."
Earlier that day, President Trump held a press conference at his golf resort in Florida, describing the war with Iran as an "affair" and pointing out that "it will be a short-term affair." This aligns with his remarks during a phone interview with CBS, where he stated, "The war is progressing much faster than expected" and that "it is virtually complete."
On February 28, following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's second son-hardliner Mojtaba Khamenei-in a U.S. and Israeli airstrike, Iran appointed Mojtaba Khamenei as the next Supreme Leader and has continued its posture of all-out resistance. Western and Arab media outlets have interpreted Mojtaba's appointment itself as a "message of resistance" to the United States and Israel.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the previous day at 3 p.m., a loyalty pledge ceremony for Mojtaba Khamenei was held at Tehran's Enghelab Square, where citizens gathered. Those assembled waved Iranian flags, pledged allegiance to Mojtaba, and denounced the United States and Israel.
However, after Iran's stance became public, President Trump once again took to his social network service, Truth Social, warning that "if oil supplies are blocked in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran will face attacks 20 times stronger than what they have suffered so far."
He also stated, "We will eliminate targets that can be easily destroyed," adding, "It will become virtually impossible for Iran to rebuild its nation." He went on to claim, "This is a gift from the United States to China and to every country using the Strait of Hormuz."
