On March 11 at 6:30 p.m., Chuncheon City will officially announce the emergence of a new downtown tourist landmark by holding the 'Soyang Art Circle Completion Ceremony' at the Soyanggang Skywalk public parking lot. Around 70 people, including key guests and local residents, are expected to attend the event, which will center on the theme of "Soyang Art Circle United with the Community." The ceremony will begin at 6:10 p.m. with preliminary performances by residents from Geunhwa-dong and Soyang-dong, featuring a Nanta team from Geunhwa-dong, a guitar team from Soyang-dong, and a line dance team from Geunhwa-dong.

The official event will feature a performance using LED touch technology, where dignitaries will place their hands on a screen to simultaneously illuminate the landscape lighting of key nearby tourist attractions, including Soyang Art Circle, Soyang 2 Bridge, the Soyanggang Maiden Statue, and the Bicycle Platform. This performance is intended to symbolically light up the nightscape of Chuncheon's waterfront tourism belt. After the lighting ceremony, participants will take commemorative photos and tour the Soyang Art Circle facilities.

Soyang Art Circle is a circular pedestrian structure created at Hoban Intersection, designed to be more than just a footbridge but a piece of public art and an urban experience completed by the act of walking. The circular structure itself is considered a work of art, with color and pattern designs applied to the walking paths so that citizens and tourists can experience both scenery and art as they walk. The pattern design was developed in collaboration with Seok Yooni, CEO of the domestic pattern design studio MOSGRAPHIC, and applied to both the overpass and the surrounding connecting roads. It is expected to become a new landmark in Chuncheon.

Additionally, an observatory has been installed on the upper walkway, creating a space where citizens and visitors can stay and enjoy the lake view. Elevators have been installed in all four directions of the intersection to improve accessibility for the mobility impaired, the elderly, and stroller users, making the facility convenient for everyone. Going forward, the city plans to further develop Soyang Art Circle into a space where citizens and tourists can enjoy a variety of cultural contents, such as performances, exhibitions, and tour programs, establishing it as a representative art landmark of Chuncheon.

A Chuncheon City official stated, "During the day, visitors can enjoy walking and scenic views, while in the evening, they can appreciate the sunset and nightscape. The site is naturally connected to nearby tourist attractions and traditional markets, and we expect it to contribute to the growth of stay-type tourism and the revitalization of the local economy."
