The elementary student did not suffer any major injuries
A man in his 30s, identified as A, has been booked without detention on charges of special assault after taking away a BB gun from an elementary school student and firing it.
According to the Chungju Police Station on March 9, A is accused of taking a BB gun from a 9-year-old elementary school student, referred to as B, who was playing with friends at a park in Yeonsu-dong, Chungju, at around 1:30 p.m. on March 7, and firing a shot at B's neck.
B reportedly did not sustain any injuries. However, the police are also investigating the possibility of attempted abduction of a minor, based on a witness statement that A approached another child nearby and braided the child's hair after the incident.
