Digital healthcare platform company UBcare is pushing to change its corporate name to 'GC MediAI'.
On March 9, UBcare announced that it would propose the agenda for this name change at the regular general shareholders’ meeting scheduled for March 24. The new name will be officially used after the resolution is approved at the shareholders’ meeting.
The name GC MediAI reflects the company's vision to realize a future medical environment based on medical expertise and artificial intelligence (AI) technology by combining medical and AI. Starting from 2026, this name change is part of a mid- to long-term strategy to evolve into a 'Medical Operating System (Medical OS)' through ▲advancement of 'Doctor's Love AI' ▲accelerating the transition to cloud EMR ▲expanding data-driven medical services.
With the name change, UBcare plans to shift its business structure, which has been centered on electronic medical record (EMR) systems, to a 'Medical OS' framework based on AI and cloud technology. Through this, the company aims to build a healthcare data-driven ecosystem that connects a wide range of industry players-including hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, insurance and financial firms, and healthcare companies-and expand into new medical service markets.
Kim Jintae, CEO of UBcare, said, "The new name more clearly reflects the company's future strategy and direction," adding, "We will establish ourselves as a company that leads the digital transformation of the healthcare ecosystem in Korea."
