A man in his 30s was apprehended by the police after breaking into the home of a woman who had opened her door to bring in a parcel delivery box, robbing her of valuables and fleeing the scene.

On March 9, the Hanam Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that it had requested an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of aggravated robbery. Mr. A is accused of breaking into the officetel unit of a woman, Ms. B, in Hanam at 12:45 a.m. on March 7, robbing her of 100,000 won, and fleeing afterward.

He reportedly loitered around the officetel for three to four hours before the crime and began following Ms. B at 12:20 a.m. after selecting her as his target. He then followed her into the officetel, checked which unit she entered, and took advantage of the moment when she opened her door to bring in a parcel delivery box to enter her home, commit the robbery, and escape.

After tracking Mr. A using CCTV footage and other investigative methods, the police apprehended him at a motel in Gangdong District, Seoul, at 6:53 a.m.-about six hours after the crime. Mr. A stated that he committed the crime due to financial difficulties.

A police official stated, "The suspect threatened the victim and stole money without using any special tools, fleeing immediately after. We will conduct additional investigations once the court decides whether to issue the arrest warrant."
