LIV Golf, backed by Saudi Arabian capital, will be held in Korea for the second consecutive year.
On March 9, LIV Golf announced that it would host "LIV Golf Korea 2026" at Busan Asiad Country Club from May 28 to 31. Launched in 2022, LIV Golf held its first Korean tournament in May last year at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon. LIV Golf stated that it has entered into a multi-year agreement with Asiad Country Club starting this year.
Scott O'Neil, CEO of LIV Golf, said, "LIV Golf's return to Korea and its hosting in Busan mark an important milestone for the league and Korean fans. Building on the successful debut in Korea last season, we look forward to delivering another unforgettable week for Korean fans."
Asiad Country Club has previously hosted events such as the LPGA Tour BMW Ladies Championship and the 2002 Asian Games. With the announcement of the Korean tournament, LIV Golf has now finalized a schedule of 14 tournaments in 10 countries for this season.
LIV Golf is hoping that the Korean Golf Club, making its debut this season, will drive excitement for the Korea tournament. The Korean Golf Club is comprised of An Byeonghun, Song Younghan, Kim Minkyu, and Korean-New Zealander Danny Lee.
Captain An Byeonghun emphasized, "Having LIV Golf held in Korea is extremely meaningful for all of us. Competing in our homeland and in front of Korean fans fills us with pride. We are determined to showcase the energy, passion, and competitiveness unique to the Korean Golf Club."
