Selvas Healthcare Launches AI Braille Notetaker "BrailleSense 7"

Unveiled at the World's Largest Assistive Technology Expo, "CSUN"
Combining Google's "Gemini" with Proprietary "ART" Technology

Selvas Healthcare, a subsidiary of Selvas AI, announced on March 9 that it has officially launched three models of its next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) braille notetaker, the “BrailleSense 7” (Korean name: Hansone 7), in the global market.

The new products were unveiled at the “CSUN Conference,” an assistive technology exhibition held in Anaheim, California, United States.

BrailleSense 7 is a product that integrates Google’s generative AI solution, “Gemini,” into a braille notetaker. Users can create Gemini prompts using either braille input or voice commands and can simultaneously check the generated results through the braille display and voice output. The company explained that this is the first case of directly integrating Gemini into a braille notetaker and commercializing the technology.

It is also notable for applying both the cloud-based Google AI platform “Vertex AI” and the on-device model “Gemini Nano.” This enables functions such as document summarization, information retrieval, and object recognition without location constraints.

The new product is also equipped with Selvas Healthcare’s proprietary “ART (Active Responsive Touch) Braille Solution” technology. ART enhances navigation efficiency by recognizing users’ braille reading patterns and fingertip movements in real time. While conventional braille notetakers mainly focused on information output, this product strengthens interactivity by recognizing user responses.

The company plans to strengthen its presence in the global market by simultaneously advancing the technological innovation and accessibility-centered design of BrailleSense 7, which won the main award in the product category of the “iF Design Award 2026.”

Yoo Byungtak, CEO of Selvas Healthcare, said, “This new product is the result of combining our manufacturing capabilities for braille notetakers with global AI technology, and we are very pleased to introduce technology that brings real change and support to the lives of visually impaired users worldwide.” He added, “We will further enhance our product competitiveness in the global market by advancing AI-based accessibility features.”

According to market research firm Kings Research, the global assistive technology market for the visually impaired was valued at approximately 4.7106 billion dollars (about 6.3 trillion won) last year and is projected to grow to 11.21215 billion dollars (about 15 trillion won) by 2032. Selvas Healthcare plans to hold a domestic launch event for BrailleSense 7 at the Eroom Center in Yeouido, Seoul, on April 4.
