The group BLACKPINK has set a new record on the US Billboard charts with their third mini album, "DEADLINE."
According to a Billboard chart preview article published on March 8 (local time), BLACKPINK's third mini album "DEADLINE" ranked 8th on the main album chart, the "Billboard 200." This marks the group’s fifth entry on the chart, following their first and second mini albums and their first and second full-length albums.
With this, BLACKPINK has now landed in the "Top 10" of the chart for three consecutive times. Previously, BLACKPINK reached No. 2 with their first full-length album "THE ALBUM" and No. 1 with their second full-length album "BORN PINK."
The group also achieved notable results on the UK Official Charts. "DEADLINE" ranked 11th on the Official Albums Top 100 chart, while the title track "GO" reached 44th on the Singles Top 100 chart. BLACKPINK has set the record for the most chart entries by a K-pop female artist in both the Official Albums and Singles categories.
The album, released on February 27, recorded sales of 1,774,577 copies within its first week, setting a new first-week sales record for a K-pop girl group. On the Circle Chart, the group achieved a triple crown, and also topped the weekly and monthly charts on Hanteo.
Rolling Stone in the US described BLACKPINK as "back in their prime." Billboard commented on the title track "GO," calling it "the best song on the album and one that truly represents BLACKPINK."
