Seocho District Offers Monthly Rent Loan Interest Subsidies for Newlyweds and Young Adults... Applications Open Until March 31

Up to KRW 3 Million per Year for Newlywed Couples,
KRW 1 Million for Young Adults

Seocho District in Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo) announced on March 9 that it will implement the "2026 Monthly Rent Deposit Loan Interest Subsidy Program" for newlywed couples and young adults without homes. Applications will be accepted from March 10 to March 31.

For newlywed couples, the subsidy amount is up to KRW 3 million per year, within 2% of the outstanding loan balance, depending on income level and number of children. For young adults, the maximum is KRW 1 million per year. The subsidy is provided once a year for up to three years. Households selected in previous years must reapply each year to continue receiving benefits.


Eligible applicants are those who, as of the announcement date (March 9), have completed their resident registration in Seocho District and do not own a home. Newlywed couples must meet all of the following requirements: both spouses do not own a home, the marriage was registered within the past seven years, combined annual income is KRW 120 million or less, and the property is either 85 square meters or less in exclusive area or has a deposit of KRW 700 million or less. Young adults must be between 19 and 39 years old, have an annual income of KRW 60 million or less, and the property must be either 60 square meters or less in exclusive area or have a deposit of KRW 300 million or less. Those with housing rental loans from the Housing and Urban Fund, residents of public rental housing, or recipients of similar programs are excluded.


After receiving applications, the district office will conduct eligibility screening and check for overlapping benefits, then select recipients and provide the subsidy in May. Last year, a total of 80 households received support, including 39 newlywed couples and 41 young adult households.
