Gyeonggi Province to Provide Up to 400,000 KRW for Group Uniform Purchases for New Students at Alternative Education Institutions

Gyeonggi Province, in cooperation with cities and counties, will provide up to 400,000 KRW in support for the purchase of group uniforms such as school uniforms and gym uniforms.

The beneficiaries are first-year middle and high school students who are either enrolled or have transferred and have their resident registration in Gyeonggi Province as of the date of admission or transfer, attending alternative education institutions both inside and outside the province, as well as first-year middle and high school students attending schools located in other provinces.

As long as the group uniform is specified in the school regulations, students can purchase any type of uniform, including school uniforms, daily uniforms, or gym uniforms, regardless of the item.

Support funds will be provided at actual cost up to 400,000 KRW per student. However, if the student has already received support for school uniforms or similar items from another province or institution, only the difference within the support limit set by each institution will be provided.

Students or parents who wish to apply can submit required documents such as the receipt for group uniform purchase and a certificate of enrollment through the Gyeonggi Civil Service 24 website (gg24.gg.go.kr), or by visiting city or county offices, or administrative welfare centers from March 9 until December 11.

Hong Seongdeok, Director of Lifelong Education at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Gyeonggi Province is supporting the purchase of group uniforms as part of its efforts to realize universal educational welfare without blind spots," adding, "We will continue to strive so that even more residents can enjoy equal opportunities in the future."
