Woori Financial Group announced on March 8 that it held the "Women Leaders Networking Day" at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, on March 6, inviting female leaders from all group affiliates. The event, held in celebration of International Women's Day, was attended by approximately 80 female department heads from headquarters teams across 17 group companies, including Dongyang Life Insurance and ABL Life Insurance.
This event was organized to promote an organizational culture that respects diversity and to proactively respond to domestic and global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) evaluations. Participants strengthened their partnerships for mutual growth under the theme "Connection and Growth: Women’s Leadership Driving the Future."
During a special lecture, Park Myoungshin, Vice President of Woori Card and a prominent female executive within the group, delivered the first talk on the topic of coaching leadership for collective growth. Vice President Park shared her career path and the challenges she faced during her growth, candidly discussing the importance of leadership within the organization and the balance between communication and feedback.
Next, Choi Jieun, Executive Director for Asia-Pacific at Meta, who is active in the global big tech industry, was invited as an external keynote speaker. She introduced the "rules of the game," emphasizing that "only those who step into the ring have opportunities." Executive Director Choi offered specific advice on storytelling for performance appeal and ways to expand influence.
Woori Financial Group plans to actively encourage the integration of talent discovery and development programs across its group companies. Furthermore, major affiliates will operate specialized programs to expand the pool of potential female leaders, aiming to drive sustainable growth.
Lim Jongryong, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, emphasized, "Diversity is an essential strategy directly linked to a company's sustainable growth," adding, "We will continue to refine our systems to expand the roles of female leaders in key positions." He also requested, "Please become strong supporters for one another and further strengthen synergy within the group."
