From March 9 to 10, Sokcho City will form three joint guidance teams consisting of members from the Regional Economy Division and the Environmental Division to directly visit all 22 gas stations in the city.

During these on-site visits, gas station owners or managers will receive information on: international oil price trends and the domestic fuel market situation; a reminder that unfair practices such as price collusion and unjustified price increases are prohibited; encouragement to operate with reasonable pricing and build consumer trust; and requests to cooperate with future government policies aimed at stabilizing fuel prices. The city plans to focus on maintaining a healthy distribution system through communication with gas station operators, thereby creating an environment where citizens can purchase fuel with peace of mind.

In addition, to stimulate local consumption, the city will ask for promotional cooperation so that citizens can use the Sokcho Love Gift Certificate at participating gas stations. The Sokcho Love Gift Certificate offers a 10% discount at the time of purchase, which is expected to help reduce citizens’ fuel expenses while also supporting the sales of small business owners.

Lee Byeongseon, Mayor of Sokcho, stated, "With concerns over rising oil prices mounting due to recent changes in the international situation, we will work to stabilize fuel prices and establish a fair distribution order through cooperation with local gas stations. We will continue striving to manage price stability, which is directly connected to citizens’ daily lives."
