Evacuation of Koreans from the Middle East Continues... Departures from Qatar and Jordan as Well

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, as Koreans staying in the Middle East continue to evacuate, Korean nationals have also departed from countries such as Qatar and Jordan with support from local embassies.

On March 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a press statement saying that 65 Koreans staying in Qatar moved to neighboring Saudi Arabia between March 3 and March 6.

Specifically, four people left for Saudi Arabia on March 3, 27 on March 5, and 34 on March 6, with the Embassy of Korea in Qatar providing assistance with vehicle rentals and immigration procedures.

In Jordan, where commercial flights are still operating, 41 Korean short-term residents departed on March 5 and 6. The Embassy of Korea in Jordan dispatched an on-site support team to Amman Airport to assist with departure procedures.

In Kuwait, 14 Koreans and one foreign spouse also moved to Saudi Arabia, with the embassy providing rental vehicles.

Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it has supported the movement of Koreans to neighboring countries, including Iran (25 people), Israel (113 people), Bahrain (14 people), and Iraq (5 people), and emphasized that "we will continue efforts to ensure the safety of our nationals."
