On March 6, just one day after President Lee Jaemyung ordered strict measures against excessive fuel price profiteering, a gas station in Seoul (pictured below) was selling fuel at a price that had increased by 20 won compared to the previous day. The previous day, on March 5, President Lee convened an extraordinary Cabinet meeting and instructed officials to promptly set 'maximum prices' for petroleum products by region and type in order to curb sharp increases in fuel prices and prevent hoarding and cornering.
