Webtoon Entertainment Appoints Yongsoo Kim as President, "Accelerating Global Growth"

On March 5 (local time), Webtoon Entertainment announced that Yongsoo Kim, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Head of Global Webtoon Business, will be appointed as an inside director of the board and President.

President Yongsoo Kim graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Yonsei University and previously worked at McKinsey & Company and Tesla before joining Naver Webtoon as Head of Strategy at the end of 2022. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in securing the company's financial soundness and ensuring a successful initial public offering (IPO).

Since 2024, when he took on the role of Head of Global Webtoon Business, he has spearheaded sweeping innovations, ranging from organizational culture to product restructuring, driving the growth of the U.S. business. Notably, last year, he led a collaboration with The Walt Disney Company, further proving the company's value.

Going forward, President Kim will oversee company-wide business operations, take charge of global management and execution, and lead accelerated growth through innovation and experimentation.

Junkoo Kim, founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Webtoon Entertainment, will focus more on strengthening the company's fundamentals, laying the foundation for long-term growth, and setting the direction for the future. He also plans to provide full support to ensure that President Kim can demonstrate bold execution in the field.
