Sancheong County Seeks Residents' Input on Rural Space Regeneration Implementation Plan

Step-by-Step Projects to Be Implemented in the Northern Regeneration Activation Area Through 2030

Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on March 6 that it held a public hearing on the “Implementation Plan (Draft) for Rural Space Restructuring and Regeneration in Sancheong County” at the auditorium of the Sanencheong Health Nuri Center.

This public hearing was attended by local residents, experts, and related government officials, who shared development directions for the northern regeneration activation area.

The county gathered residents' opinions on the implementation plan through this public hearing, following a previous hearing on the basic plan held in November of last year.

The “Implementation Plan (Draft) for Rural Space Restructuring and Regeneration in Sancheong County” covers a five-year period from 2026 to 2030, targeting the northern regeneration activation areas of Sancheong-eup, Chahwang-myeon, Obu-myeon, Saengcho-myeon, and Geumseo-myeon.

Major projects include: ▲Rural Central Area Revitalization Project in Sancheong-eup ▲Obu-myeon Basic Living Base Development Project ▲Phase 2 of the Basic Living Base Development Project in Chahwang-myeon, Obu-myeon, and Saengcho-myeon.

Since 2022, Sancheong County has been implementing rural agreement projects for the southern living area, and plans to apply for rural agreement competitive projects for the northern regeneration activation area through this public hearing and the related procedures.

A county official stated, “In order to improve the completeness of the implementation plan, highly practical ideas from residents are important,” adding, “We will hold additional briefing sessions to make it easier for more local residents to share their opinions, and we will carefully reflect the feedback submitted so that the agreement projects in the northern area can proceed smoothly.”
