LG Uplus Wins Three Awards, Including 'CTO Choice'

LG Uplus won three awards simultaneously at the Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) 2026 of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), including the top honor, the "Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Choice." At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, held in Barcelona, Spain, Korean mobile carriers and manufacturers have announced a series of awards.

On March 5, LG Uplus announced that it won three awards simultaneously at the Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) 2026, organized by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), which hosted MWC 2026, including the top honor, the "Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Choice."

This year, LG Uplus received the CTO Choice award, which is given to the most outstanding technology among nine winners in the mobile technology category. The CTO Choice is selected by a panel of more than 20 CTOs from the global telecommunications industry.

LG Uplus became the first in the world to introduce the "Anti Deep Voice" technology, which detects manipulated voices in real-time on-device, to its AI agent service "ixi-O." In the mobile technology category, ixi-Guardian, which integrates security technologies, was highly rated and selected for the "Best Network Security & Anti-Fraud" award.

Additionally, in the "Excellence in Marketing" category, LG Uplus won the newly established "Marketing for Social Good" award for the first time this year. Lee Sangyeop, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of LG Uplus, stated, "This award objectively recognizes LG Uplus's AI security technology on the global stage," adding, "We will continue to develop our AI security capabilities to strengthen trust in our communications services and deliver innovations that benefit our customers."

Jung Minyoung, Head of AI DC Solutions at SK Telecom, Lee Jueun, Team Manager of AI DC Orchestration Solutions at SK Telecom, and Kim Myoungguk, Head of GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) Business at SK Telecom, are posing for a commemorative photo after receiving the GLOMO award.

SK Telecom received the "Best Cloud Solution Award" at GLOMO 2026 for its B200-based graphics processing unit (GPU) cluster "Haein." Haein is a high-performance GPU infrastructure composed of more than 1,000 B200 units equipped with Nvidia's next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) accelerator chip "Blackwell," configured as a single cluster. Based on this, SK Telecom provides GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) to its customers.

The name "Haein" is inspired by Haeinsa Temple, where the Tripitaka Koreana is stored, and reflects the company's ambition to become a "Korean sovereign AI" infrastructure that embraces the digital-age Tripitaka Koreana. With this award, SK Telecom has won in the "Best Cloud Solution" category for three consecutive years.

Samsung Electronics also won the "Best in Show" award at MWC 2026 for its Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Best in Show award is considered the highest honor of the ceremony and is selected by a panel of analysts, journalists, and influencers from around the world. It is awarded to the most innovative, industry-leading product among the many showcased at the event.
